Dr. Duane Ross, Board Chair 2009 - Present Duane currently serves as Medical Director of Government Programs for Blue Cross/Blue Shield of New Mexico. He received a B.A. in English Literature from Cornell University; Doctor of Medicine from Howard University School of Medicine; and served his Internship, Residency and Fellowship in Internal Medicine at St. Vincent’s Hospital in New York, NY. He is also on the Board of the New Mexico chapter of the American Lung Association. |

Chris Baca, Facilities Committee Chair 2013-Present Chris is the principal engineer and owner of Vector Engineering, a company specializing in transportation that he founded in 2007. He has worked on many interesting projects including the Coors/I-40 interchange, US 70 through Hondo Valley, the Railrunner and the I-25/US 550 Interchange. He also spent 14 years coaching high school girls’ soccer where he enjoyed developing skills on the field but more importantly teaching skills for life. Chris holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from the University of New Mexico. Chris and his wife Ann have three children, Kalin '14, Kolten '18 and Kilah '19, who all attend Bosque. |

Gene Baca, Facilities Committee 2013-Present Gene is a twelfth generation New Mexican. He is the Senior Vice President and an owner of Bueno Foods, a 62 year old family owned New Mexican food company. He has served in a senior management role for 27 years. Gene received his J.D. from Harvard, Bachelors in Biology from UNM, and graduated from West Mesa High in Albuquerque. Gene and his wife Christine live in Corrales and have four children; two attending Bosque and another an aspiring Bosque student. Their oldest is a teacher at the Cottonwood School.

John Badal, Finance and Development Committees 2008 – Present A graduate of Albuquerque Academy and the University of New Mexico, John is the CEO and owner of Southwest Therapies (SWT) and Mobile Medical Marketing (MMM). John formed these companies over 15 years ago for the sole purpose of bringing state-of-the-art medical technologies to the rural areas of the Southwest. SWT and MMM currently provide service to 33 hospitals in New Mexico, Colorado, and Texas. John and his wife, Heather, have a daughter attending Bosque School. |

Susan Ford Bales, Trustee Committee 2007 - Present 1998 - 2006 Susan is on the board of the Gerald R. Ford Foundation and is the former chairman of the board of the Betty Ford Center for alcohol and drug abuse. She is a professional photographer and photojournalist. Susan has recently authored and published two novels, Double Exposure and its sequel Sharp Focus. |

Mitchell Coven
2006 - Present Mitch is the founder, CEO and President of Vitality Works, Inc.., a natural products nutraceutical manufacturing lab registered by the Food and Drug Administration and Headquartered in Albuquerque, New Mexico since 1982. Mitch holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the School of Education at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. Mitch is currently serving in his 12th year on the board of the American Herbal Products Association (AHPA) where he chairs and is active on numerous committees. Mitch has three children, one a Bosque alumnus and two who currently attend Bosque School. |

Lucia Deichmann, Board Secretary, Trustee Committee Chair, Development and Facilities Committees 2008 – Present
Lucia spent her early career in corporate and government entities involved in systems analysis and the development and implementation of large database systems. For the past decade, she owned and operated a manufacturing wholesale food business in Albuquerque. Lucia is currently a financial planner involved in setting up NGO operations in Africa and exploring microfinance opportunities to help developing businesses succeed. She also serves on the SARANAM Board for homeless families. |

Dennis Goggin, Finance and Investment Committees 2009-Present
Dennis worked for 30 years as a financial services executive with Chase Manhattan Bank and later with Visa International, primarily in Europe and Asia. A native of Michigan, he received a B.A. from the Michigan State University Honors College. He then studied at the Russian and East European Institute at Indiana University and earned an M.A. in Russian and East European History. Prior to joining Chase Manhattan Bank, he was a member of the US Cultural Exchange and lived in Sofia, Bulgaria, where he was affiliated with the Institute for Balkan Studies. Dennis lives in both Corrales and Boulder, Colorado. |

Leo Gonzalez, Board Vice-Chair

Leo currently serves as Assistant Treasurer for PNM Resources. He began his career as an investment banker with Lehman Brothers and JP Morgan, where he raised capital for corporate and government clients. Leo was previously with Stanford Management Company, managing over $1 billion of the university's endowment and charitable trust assets. His work at Ford Motor Co. included oversight of global pension fund investments and Treasury functions for Japan and Southeast Asia. He received a BS in International Economics from Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service and an MBA from Stanford University. |

Alicia Gutierrez

Alicia L. Gutierrez, a native of Albuquerque, New Mexico, has been a member of Moses, Dunn, Farmer & Tuthill, P.C. since 1988 and a shareholder of the firm since 1991.Alicia earned a finance degree from UNM’s Robert O. Anderson School of Business in 1981 and her law degree from UNM in 1986. Alicia’s practice focuses on employment law, banking, and a real estate practice. Alicia has held numerous volunteer and board positions with several nonprofit organizations including, City of Albuquerque Airport Advisory Board, City of Albuquerque Personnel Board, the Catholic Foundation Trustee, State Bar of New Mexico-Chairman of the Business Law Section, A Child’s Garden Pre-School board member and board president, and Manzano Day School board member. Alicia and her husband Dennis A. Rivera have two children, Danielle, Class of ‘10 and Andres, Class of ’13 (Bosque School).

Daniel Gutierrez, Development Committee 2010 – Present
Reverend Gutierrez is ordained to the clergy of the Episcopal Church and serves on the Executive Staff of the Episcopal Diocese of the Rio Grande. Daniel earned degrees in History, Political Science, Public Administration and Theology. Daniel serves on numerous local and national boards; however, his most important role and greatest responsibility is being the proud father of Jude '17, a Bosque student, – a joy he shares daily with his wife, Suzanne. |

Michael A. Hauger, Development Committee Chair

Michael, CPWA, Senior Vice President – Investments, PIM Portfolio Manager Sandia Investment Group, Wells Fargo Advisors, LLC, has been in the securities industry for 29 years, having started his career with E.F. Hutton in 1977. In 1988 he joined Boettcher & Company, a predecessor firm of Wachovia Securities. Hauger served as the Branch Manager of the Albuquerque office from 1992 to 1997. A strong supporter of the community, Mr. Hauger has served on numerous boards, including the Presbyterian Healthcare Foundation Board, the Chamber Orchestra of Albuquerque, Youth Development, Inc. Hauger is responsible for client and community development. Mike has one son who graduated from Bosque School. |

Eric M. Herrera, Board Treasurer 2013-Present Eric is a CPA, Principal with REDW CPA’s Business and Financial Advisors, LLC in Albuquerque. Eric has a broad background in both private industry and public accounting. Practicing since 1994, Eric covers real estate and construction taxation, mergers and acquisitions, tax planning for closely held businesses and owners, and business entity selection. Eric has extensive experience with business structures including S corporations, C corporations, partnerships, and limited liability companies (LLCs). Eric holds a Bachelors of Business Administration degree with a concentration in Accounting from the University of New Mexico Anderson School of Management. |

Dr. Jeffrey Katzman 2009 - Present
Jeffrey currently serves as Clinical Professor and Vice Chairman for Education and Academic Affairs for the Psychiatry Department at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine. Prior to this, he was the Director of Behavioral Health for the New Mexico Veterans Affairs Hospital in Albuquerque for nine years. He has experience in leadership and organizational consultation, career and family coaching, and writes original musicals for The Box Theater in Albuquerque. He attended Stanford University as an undergraduate and then went on to the University of California San Diego for medical school and completed his Psychiatry Residency at UCLA. Jeffrey and his wife have three children who attend Bosque.

Gaelle D. McConnell, Esq.

Gaelle is an attorney who practices in the areas of estate planning, probate, guardianship/conservatorship, and business planning. She graduated magna cum laude from the University of New Mexico and received her juris doctor with honors from the University of New Mexico. In addition to serving on various committees and boards within the community, Gaelle is the current chair of Pegasus Legal Services for Children and is a Supreme Court appointee to, and twice past chair of, the Client Protection Fund Commission. Gaelle is the proud mother of two Bosque students--Claire '13 and Aiden '18. |

Wendy Swedick, Finance Committee

Wendy has over 20 years of experience providing leadership in both corporate and entrepreneurial organizations. She was part of the Senior Management Team of a $3 billion telecommunications company and has been the CFO for entrepreneurial early-stage and start-up organizations. Wendy is currently a Senior Mentor for the New Directions Institute. Wendy is a graduate of the University of New Mexico and the Leadership New Mexico program.

Peggie Findlay, Founder and Board Member Emeritus 1993 - Present Peggie is a physician and cancer researcher. She also serves on the Symphony Board, is a member of the Order of St. John and a founder of Bosque School. Peggie has two children who have graduated from Bosque School. |

William B. Handmaker, Head of School
2011-Present
Billy Handmaker joined Bosque School in 2011 as the third Head of School. He has served as a teacher and an administrator in independent schools since 1989. From 1989-96, Billy taught history, chaired the History Department, and served as the Dean of Faculty and the Assistant Head for Faculty and Curriculum at Whitfield School in St. Louis. From 1996-2011, Billy was the Head of School and taught history at Crossroads College Preparatory School in St. Louis. Billy has served on many non-profit boards, including the St. Louis Public Library, KIPP-St. Louis, and Independent Schools of St. Louis, Shaare Zedek Synagogue, and other organizations. Holding a B.A. in Political Science from George Washington University and an M. A. in Teaching/History from Washington University-St. Louis, Billy has also taught as an adjunct faculty member at Maryville University. Billy and his wife, Betul Ozmat, and their two sons, Simon '15 and Lev '18 enjoy being a part of the Bosque School community and living in New Mexico. |
