An Earth Day Celebration
In celebration of Earth Day BEMP and Bosque School host a day of education and fun with over 380 first grade students from Albuquerque public school and theirs parents.
Students spend months learning about the Rio Grande and its watershed through a curriculum provided by Earth’s Birthday Project. They also take part in activities that show what they can do to improve the habitat in the Middle Rio Grande for creatures like the river otter.
The culminating celebration is held on the campus of Bosque School and is a highlight of the program. Upper School students lead learning circles and nature hikes for the kids while 7thgrade students act as guides to the kids while they are on campus.
Otter Day is sponsored in part by Earth Birthday Project, Albuquerque Community Foundation, Cebrin Goodman Foundation and AMAFCA.
